Hazards of the Job

Stygia: Friends! Today, I want to warn you about some of the hazards of the Occupy movement. Some of them are more obvious than others. For instance, if you're Occupying the shower, chances are you're going to get wet (ugh). Ditto for Occupying the bathroom sink. If you Occupy the desk chair, you could easily get sat upon.

Perhaps just as perilous, yet not as obvious, is what could happen if you Occupy a place like the desk (just like I have been doing). You could fall asleep in the sun, doing a happy leg-dangle with a big smile on your face, and your person might get a tell-tail picture showing your laxity on the job! Be careful, friends -- it could happen to you!

As for those of you who are not participating in the Occupy campaign, beware of the kinds of photos people can get of you while you carouse:

I don't think anything more needs to be said.

Post "Storm" Activities

Stygia: The predicted winter snow storm warnings and flood warnings we were under yesterday were, thankfully, a let down. If you are still having rain, Abby had some good suggestions for ways to enjoy your day in the previous post. However, if you are like us and now enjoying good, sunny weather again then there is only one thing you should be doing: nap!

PS. While the humans are Occupying Wall Street and various other locations, now is the time for us kitties to continue on our own Occupy movements. I have chosen to Occupy Ms. C's desk, rain or shine! Though I much prefer shine.

Rainy Day Busy Stuff

Abby: It's raining. A lot of people may bemoan this weather, and to be honest I prefer the sun myself, but there are still many things you can do to keep active and happy and busy on days like this. Here are my suggestions for you:

#1. Check someone out.
Make sure their bathing habits are on the up-and-up, and offer to assist if they are not. It's friendly!

#2. Discover new hidey holes.
Try out a location you've never tried before. Ms. C was very surprised to find me in this suitcase! Surprising people is always gratifying. But I was very tired, as you can see, it was conducive to my naptime.

#3. Sit on someone.
It's not exactly warm out here. Not only will you be helping them to stay warm, but also you'll benefit from the cozy feelings and probably some nice chin-scratchies, too!

Dreary Day

Abby: What better thing can you think of to do on a dreary day, besides have a nice long nap? Me neither, I could not think of much else. Ms. C went to the store, and was a bit surprised to find us both on the couch when she returned. We didn't leave any space for her. That's what you get for going out into the dreariness and not napping with us! I did show her my belly though as soon as she came over.

Ms. C's nephew got her these fun shoes when he was on vacation in Florida a few weeks ago. She decided to take a picture of herself wearing them for him, and she considered it important to get ME in the picture too. I can take a few minutes away from my nap-time to pose, and maybe chatter at some birds while I am at it:

And, just in case you wonder what we on the couch are dreaming about, it's this:

Silly on Sunday

Stygia: Abby, it's not nice to use your claws on me like that!

Abby: I'm just showing them to you. I'm not actually going to use them on you, ok?! Mmmm, but I am going to use them on this catnip mouse. I looooove this mouse!

Look how cute my little whisker dots are!!

Stygia: She wears me out! I think I'm going to go have a nap up here in the sun. That's what we are supposed to do on Sundays, Abby. Relax.

Abby: It's never going to last! Just in case you wonder, I'm the one who attacks first!

Stygia: Yeah, but look what happens when you look away! Hehehe!

Misty Saturday

Abby: It has been rainy and drizzly outside today. That means we feel sleepy and we have no sun spots to wrestle in. While that is a disappointment, there are other important things to do around the house, of course. Top on our list is "follow Ms. C around everywhere." This is Ms. C's desk. We are very interested in all that she does.

Also a priority is some really good, championship napping! Here I am, meowing as Ms. C talks to me, because I want her to scratch my chin. We had a really good nap together today, I cozied up next to her knees and slept with my paws in the air. I love Ms. C, she gives me tuna!

Stygia: I am very excited and impressed today, because when I went over with Ms. C to do my Stygian Saturdays over at House Panthers, Diamond Emerald-Eyes (also a very beauteous panther) beat me there and posted a really awesome graphic featuring me! Thank you, Diamond!

I blame Ms. C for me being late on House Panthers today, she was really wrapped up in that "napping on a rainy day" task she and Abby took on. By the way, I really love this lap-top bag for sitting on. It matches me so nicely and is the perfect size!

Sleepy Sunday

I expect my people to wake up at 6am every day. Although I tried to rouse them at the proper time this morning, they would not move until 7:30. I was very patient, I even took a nap next to Ms. C for that extra time, touching my front paws to her face. Now that we are all awake, we can nap throughout the day! I have a few favorite places to sleep. This is where I was right before I decided to help Ms. C type this entry:

I also like to sleep in the same place with Mr R:

I also enjoy stretching to my full-length when I sleep on the couch:

It makes stretching my toes easier. Where are your favorite places to sleep?
