Ms. C is Ancient

Abby: Hear ye, hear ye! Ms. C is officially ancient today! If we lived as long as she has, we would consider ourselves little Goddesses. Well, we do already. We might even deign to permit Ms. C to join our ranks if she feeds us extra!

What more could anyone want for their birthday than THIS? Come on, let's play with the bows!!!

Dreary Day

Abby: What better thing can you think of to do on a dreary day, besides have a nice long nap? Me neither, I could not think of much else. Ms. C went to the store, and was a bit surprised to find us both on the couch when she returned. We didn't leave any space for her. That's what you get for going out into the dreariness and not napping with us! I did show her my belly though as soon as she came over.

Ms. C's nephew got her these fun shoes when he was on vacation in Florida a few weeks ago. She decided to take a picture of herself wearing them for him, and she considered it important to get ME in the picture too. I can take a few minutes away from my nap-time to pose, and maybe chatter at some birds while I am at it:

And, just in case you wonder what we on the couch are dreaming about, it's this:

No Dignity

Stygia: We are back in business, now that Ms. C and Mr. R are back from celebrating a very late Christmas with Ms. C's parents. We even got some presents!! Wasn't that sweet of them to think of their grand-cats? We will have to show them to you in the upcoming days.

Hee hee hee, look at this photo our mom captured of Abby sitting on Mr R's chair. Not very dignified, is it? There is really nothing dignified about her. Sometimes I wonder if she really is a cat at all. What do you think?

I enjoy spending time in our own chair next to Ms. C's, getting all of the attention I deserve. When I am happy, which is often these days, you can see how I smile:

Ms. C went out for a walk and brought back this evidence from the patio that we, too, get visitors outside our home. But we never see them! What kind of visitor do you think these tracks are from? We think they are from an Other Cat.

Frisky

Stygia: I see you down there, Abby. Folding your ears back will not make you disappear. Look, I am very relaxed up here. This spot is mine.

Abby: But Styggie, can't you see how prone and defenseless I am down here? Maybe if you just drop down here . . . (thundering follows)

Mr. R just got himself a new car. Well, it is new to him, but used by someone else. Ms. C bought him a big snow and ice remover, but I'm quite sure this is a cat-dental-device.

Stygia: Ms. C got an early birthday present from #1 of The Poupounette today! We are sure it is a really cool, wonderful present, but to be honest, the box is much more interesting to us. Personally, I liked the tape and the label the best, I bit them both a few times:

Abby: I am a TIGER!

Ms. C says she hopes to be going to visit her parents for the rest of the week, as long as the weather holds out! We don't want her to go, but since she is OUR mom, we understand that she needs to see HER mom too.

Amazed

Stygia: For awhile now, Abby and I believed that Mr. R and Ms. C are probably the only other humans left in the world, and that was ok with us. Two cats, two people, what could be more perfect than that? But we learned today that there are Other People in the world, too. Ms. C's parents are here, and we are amazed! I am not afraid, however. It means there are four more legs to rub against!

Abby: I like to show the world how brave I am, but the truth is, I am a bit shy. I guess I was a little bit rude to Ms. C's Mom yesterday, and I hissed at her. I did it even though I kept walking over to her to check her out. I just needed to warn her that I had to sniff her first. I mean, I am not one of those cats that runs and hides as soon as they arrived, I am way too curious for that! But people need to know their place. Cats first!

They brought us a present all the way from Prince Edward Island, so now we have some new, very luxurious bowls to eat from! They are almost as adorable as we are:

Play: The Sequel

Ms. C: When I woke up this morning, this is what I saw. Notice, while Stygia is comfortably installed, Abby is more cautious. But she wants to be there!

Abby: Ms. C says her Aunt D. sent her a lovely afghan that she made! She put it on the chair and right away I had to scale its heights and make it my own. I think a multicolored-and-black design compliments my own color scheme, don't you agree?

Stygia: Yes, I allowed Abby to sit near me in the morning. She can be pesky, but ultimately she listens to me. She was leaving me alone so it was ok.

Just in case you wanted to see another video of us playing in our cat condo, here it is! Ms. C needs a better way to record our antics besides her camera, which as you can see is not very good at all. She then had to rotate it in Windows Movie Maker, and it came out a bit squashed.

On the positive side, you can see what a silly little klutz Abby is, falling out of the cat condo like that, and just how fast my whapping paws are! You get to watch all the action twice, the second time is in slow motion.
