Progress!

Styx:  As you can see, I have been making great progress! I actually managed to sleep right next to Stygia the other day. I don't think she was exactly excited about it, but she was very tired, didn't hiss, and didn't move away. I, myself, was very happy about this occasion. I hope for more.

As you can see, I also rest near Abby (I'm on the blanket on top of the couch). She also did not move away, which is new. We play together pretty often. Sometimes we get rowdy very late at night, which inspires Ms. C to get up and write about us. Tee hee!

I am also helping Ms. C with her new artwork. The paints Mr. R ordered for her for Christmas finally all arrived, and so she has begun to work.  Wouldn't you feel a lot better about work or anything you do in life if you had this view all of the time?

Stygia: Bastet, grant me the serenity to accept the cats I cannot change, courage to chase the ones I can, and wisdom to know when to stop so Ms. C does not get out the squirt bottle again.

Helping. Waiting. Cat Stuff.

Abby: I am a very good helper. My Mum, Ms. C, has a lot of writing to do for work, so she needs companionship. Inspiration. Motivation. Help.

All of these things I can offer. I do a great job, I know it, she tells me this all the time.

If I sat behind your screen like this, you'd have written a bestseller already, wouldn't you? I don't know why she hasn't. Maybe I need to stop falling asleep back here so much.

Abby Normal likes to help.

Styx: Well, I am taking a break from my boy-crazy behavior. I am still a talkative cat. Ms. C says I "mutter" to myself all of the time. Well, there is a lot to observe and comment on in a new home, right? Especially since I am giving the boys a break, I have time to sniff about. I have time to learn where the other cats like to sleep so I can try out those places too. And I have time to try to get close to them.

I would like to be closer to them. Not just physically, but they don't let me do that much yet.

Ms. C says to "just wait until Tuesday" and things will change a little bit after that. I'm not sure how. I still think it must be something wonderful because she talks about it so much!

I love the sun, and I am helpful

Stygia: Mum says she doesn't need help organizing her stuff. But I feel that she does. Especially since she is doing it right in the middle of the sunlight.... I am very helpful!

I follow the sun wherever it goes! Which is often here, on the cat-condo they most thoughtfully placed by a window where we get sun all morning and afternoon!

Sun Pigs: Prelude to a Whap

Abby: Ohhhh.... nice... sun and warmth! And here is my sis, Stygia, I need to check out her ears.

Stygia: Zzzz.....

Abby: (sniff, sniff!) Yeah, she could use a little extra attention here...

Stygia: ZzzzZZZZzzz....

Abby: (lick, lick, lick)

Stygia: Zzzzz.....

Stygia: zzz.... WHAT?!

Abby: RRRrrrr! Grrr! Don't move, arrrrghhhh, grrr!

Abby: I was only tryin' to be nice, but I see how it is. Whap or be whapped!!

Stygia: Back off!

Hope you had a happy day too! Hee hee!

Helping Mom to Get Started

Abby: We are helping Ms. C in getting started on her art project! There are a number of ways we are doing this. First, we are hanging around her as much as possible. After all, if she sees us all the time, from the moment she wakes up until the time she falls asleep, she is sure to never lack inspiration, right? Also part of this is working together, both Styggie and me:

Stygia: You may think I was looking at birds, and I was, but as you can see I can just as easily turn to keep an eye on Ms. C at any moment!

Abby: Here I am stretching, absolutely bending over backwards on some of her art supplies! We are a great help!

Sunday Fun

Abby: Snoopervising Ms. C is always top on the list on my priorities. I need to check out every corner of her desk, even her foot-rest. As you can see here, I am assisting her by cleaning the corners of that foot-rest. Not only does it help Ms. C, but it's very exciting for me!

In addition to checkout out the under-regions of her desk, there are also a lot of really fun things to take care of on the top of her desk, like this snake that recently appeared on her lamp! I bite it daily to make sure it behaves!

Stygia: Sunday is a great day of the week to roll around and practice my singing. That's what I am doing here. It feels really good, and I like to sing:

The picture is not the greatest ... Ms. C still needs practice, I guess, but I thought you would enjoy a close-up of my vocalizing:

Sixth Photo Meme + Award!

Abby: The awesome cats over at The Cat Street Boyz tagged us for a meme! The directions are as such:

Go to your picture folder on your computer, or wherever you store your pictures. Go to the sixth folder and then pick the sixth picture. Post it on your Bloggy and tell the story that goes with the picture . . .

We made Ms. C do the work of finding the picture. Coincidentally, a detail of this picture is currently our blogger icon!

There are a lot of "out takes" in the folders we selected from, but in another coincidence, the 6th photo in the 6th folder was one that has made it on to this blog before! You see, I am a very helpful cat, and when Ms. C's parents visited, I assisted her dad in putting together some new catcases, I mean bookcases, that they got for Mr. R and her. As you can tell from my expression, putting together catcases is very exciting work:

We are tagging the gorgeous Tristan of Tabbylicious, our friends at The Poupounette, and the losers (weight! weight losers!) at Smudge & Zoe's blog!

We received this lovely award from Samantha & Mr. Tigger! Thank you so much, friends. We are nominating all the wonderful friends we have already mentioned in this post for this award.

How Lazy Can She Get?

Come on, mom. Look, I'm even helping you to type. But it is almost 8pm and you have not blogged about me yet today.

Ms. C is very lazy today. To be honest, I have too. I have been coughing and hacking a little bit, and Ms. C keeps asking me if I have a hairball. What's a hairball?

She weighed me today and I am now 7.5 pounds. That means I have gained 2 since they brought me home! I plan to keep on growing forever, until I am as tall as Ms. C, if not taller.

PS. What is a frootbat and why is it called that? I am a confused kitty.

How Do I Help Thee?

How do I help thee? Let us count the ways:

See me saving you from the evils of the sweater-shaver:

I guard carefully and we sniff each others' noses, and come to a mutual understanding:

I type for you:

Is there a cord in your way? Let me get it for you:

Finally, I keep myself impeccably clean. I am sweetly scented!
