I am not a carpet

Stygia: Look at me. I am very relaxed, basking in early morning sunlight. I am obviously minding my own business. Right?! But I see someone else approaching . . . oh, no . . .

Just LOOK at how she treats me! Like a carpet! That little foot you see there actually had the nerve to step right on me! Why, I might just have to whap . . .

Mom, after she treated me like that, do I have to sit by her? I just don't trust her right now! (moves a few feet away)

I guess I am really going to have to watch my tail this week!

Hi Girls! We missed you!

You really look splendidly sleek stretched out in the sun, Stygia. We think that Abby was trying to get attention!

We're happy to see that you have sun to lie in!

Stygia, you are most certainly NOT a carpet, nor are you to be trod on. I think you were very warm, tho', lying in the sun there. You know how dark colors absorb heat and Abby's foot couldn't help falling into the heatsink you'd created. Heat is always attractive, especially to cats!

Don't you just hate it when siblings try to walk all over you?!

I am sorry to say, little Stygia, that is a very funny photo of Abby stepping right on top of you! It was a little bit rude though.

Stygia, take it as a compliment. Abby loves to touch Ms. C with her paws, so maybe she was just stomping over you so she could touch you with her paws in adoration.

We do that to each other all the time. And, you are right, it usually leads to a good wrestling sessions. Sometimes that is precisely why we do it.

I understand your problem, having been stepped on a number of times myself. I suggest, rather than leaving your tail trailing behind you, curl it around your body to decrease the chances of stray steppage.
