Spring Fever

Stygia: This is the BEST time of year because Mum opens the window, and I reap all of the warm benefits! In case you were wondering, I have fully recovered from my UTI problem. I am a much happier cat! Interestingly, it started to come back when my people were feeding me Temptations "Blissful Catnip Flavor" treats. Mr. R speculates that the bright green dye in it aggravates me.

Ahhhh. The sun. The warm sun. From here, I can see everything. All of the birds, all of the other cats in the house, and Ms. C, since her desk is next to this window. Now, as long as it doesn't thunderstorm like it did last night, I will be very very happy. Because storms make me very very worried.

Abby: I find it important to snoopervise my people constantly. They were spending the evening watching a movie, so I was spending the evening watching THEM. Very important work!

Although, sometimes the work needs to be done while ON a person. Here you can see me keeping Ms. C calm as she watches the movie with Mr. R.  I pretend to sleep. But I am very aware!

Styx: Ms. C says I am "off the rails." I especially enjoy chasing my own tail in the bathtub, but I am not averse to doing so on top of the cat-condo as well. Round spaces are good; every cat knows that!

The Spaying of Styx

Styx: Most of you know my story. I was dumped at a farm, and I really campaigned hard to find a family -- and I did!

When those anonymous bad people dropped me off at the farm around Thanksgiving (what a holiday for me), I'd just had kittens. I don't even know what happened to them, I am sad to say.

My Mum says it is time for me to be spayed. She put a ChipIn widgit on right side of the blog, and I would be ever so pleased if you would like to help. Ms. C says I won't like being spayed, but that I will be much happier afterwards. Thank you, if you can!

I am having such a wonderful time in my new home!

Tabby Tuesday

Abby: Ms. C thinks the sun makes my eye look pretty in this picture. To be honest, I am soaking up energy, getting excited and ready to race around the house.

She also wanted to show you my happy paw in the sunshine. I really love the sun, but on rainy days and in fact any time, Ms. C is my sunshine because I would rather nap with her than do anything else in the world!

Abby gets a turn!

Abby: Stygia is usually the one in the window all day long. She has black fur and, snakelike, lays there and totally bakes her brains out. She is such a sun pig! I hardly ever get a turn. But today I did!

As you can see, I am enjoying myself very much. VERY MUCH! I hope all of you are having as spectacular a weekend as I am.

I love the sun, and I am helpful

Stygia: Mum says she doesn't need help organizing her stuff. But I feel that she does. Especially since she is doing it right in the middle of the sunlight.... I am very helpful!

I follow the sun wherever it goes! Which is often here, on the cat-condo they most thoughtfully placed by a window where we get sun all morning and afternoon!

Warm Winter Hearts

Stygia: How should a cat spend her winter days? Staying as warm as possible and soaking up every millimeter of available sunlight. Couple this with a wise gaze to let humans know how insufficient their own appreciation of sunbeams are. Make them feel like they are missing something.

Abby: For once, I am going to agree with Stygia. Sunlight is to be cherished. I try to choose a location that allows me to keep an eye on Ms. C. Dangling a leg allows the sensation of great freedom and decreases pressure to my limbs, promoting the best relaxation.

Don't you wish you were me?

Even better is "Occupying" a human when they are in bed. Ms. C was sick over the weekend, so I had a fantastic weekend as she slept to recovery. I slept under her right arm. I slept curled under her left arm. I slept on her chest as my nose practically touched hers. I slept between her knees, and I slept draped over her and Mr. R both. When Ms. C was not available, I spent a little time bonding with Mr. R as he read a favorite book:

Happiness is...

... a warm cat!

Stygia: I am not tired of Occupy Mouse Pad yet! Well, it makes me tired, sometimes; I mean, it's in such a bright location...

Mum took this picture of me and says it is "cute." That I have "cute ears." Mum, I am doing Important Work. Will you either sit in with me or shut the camera off?

Abby: Hmph. I believe that Occupation should be mobile. I much prefer to Occupy a human. Like Mr. R. He is very warm! I like it when the people watch movies cause they sit still long enough for me to have a good doze.

I win again!

Abby: GOSH! Guess what? I won again! And this time it is something I can use!!! Really use! And will love using! So it arrived in the mail yesterday, clearly addressed to me:

Wow! Well, you know what? In November, Catladyland had a giveaway, and of course I stuck my paw into this event, keeping my whiskers crossed. It turns out I was one of the winners, and my prize just arrived:

OOooo! Seventeen pounds of "World's Best Cat Litter." This has to be the most appropriate prize in the world for me, because I am obviously World's Best Cat. I am campaigning to Ms. C right now to have her fill my box with it. I am ready to scratch, scratch, scratch at it. Mr. R commented that the picture on the bag looks just like me. So obviously, everyone knows that I am indeed World's Best Cat. Thanks!!! I am so, so excited!

Stygia: World's Best Cat, eh? I am sure that this is a really nice prize, and I will also benefit. However, I am still working hard on my Occupy movement. Which isn't actually a movement at all but requires sitting very still in the sun. I recommend joining, while the sun still lasts!

PS. If you look closely, you will see that I am smiling (one of my fangs is visible). This Occupy stuff is really heart and fur warming.

Post "Storm" Activities

Stygia: The predicted winter snow storm warnings and flood warnings we were under yesterday were, thankfully, a let down. If you are still having rain, Abby had some good suggestions for ways to enjoy your day in the previous post. However, if you are like us and now enjoying good, sunny weather again then there is only one thing you should be doing: nap!

PS. While the humans are Occupying Wall Street and various other locations, now is the time for us kitties to continue on our own Occupy movements. I have chosen to Occupy Ms. C's desk, rain or shine! Though I much prefer shine.

Sun Pigs: Prelude to a Whap

Abby: Ohhhh.... nice... sun and warmth! And here is my sis, Stygia, I need to check out her ears.

Stygia: Zzzz.....

Abby: (sniff, sniff!) Yeah, she could use a little extra attention here...

Stygia: ZzzzZZZZzzz....

Abby: (lick, lick, lick)

Stygia: Zzzzz.....

Stygia: zzz.... WHAT?!

Abby: RRRrrrr! Grrr! Don't move, arrrrghhhh, grrr!

Abby: I was only tryin' to be nice, but I see how it is. Whap or be whapped!!

Stygia: Back off!

Hope you had a happy day too! Hee hee!

Sun Pigs

Stygia: Did all of you have a nice day? WE did. Mum calls us "sun pigs." Is that another name for cats? I never knew.

Abby: Sun pig? Are you serious? I am a little better with words than Stygia "Worm" is, and I'm not so sure that's flattering... except as you can see I am too busy to care right now:

PS. Stygia, your nose looks big in the sun!
