Warm....

Stygia: Ms. C says it is cold outside, but I can't tell from here. From here, it seems like the perfect place to bake. That's what Ms. C calls it anyway. She says I'm a sunpig. I am not any kind of pig, I am a beautiful cat. YOU can see that. Little do the other cats know this will be fuel for me... to stalk them... hehehe!

Spring Fever

Stygia: This is the BEST time of year because Mum opens the window, and I reap all of the warm benefits! In case you were wondering, I have fully recovered from my UTI problem. I am a much happier cat! Interestingly, it started to come back when my people were feeding me Temptations "Blissful Catnip Flavor" treats. Mr. R speculates that the bright green dye in it aggravates me.

Ahhhh. The sun. The warm sun. From here, I can see everything. All of the birds, all of the other cats in the house, and Ms. C, since her desk is next to this window. Now, as long as it doesn't thunderstorm like it did last night, I will be very very happy. Because storms make me very very worried.

Abby: I find it important to snoopervise my people constantly. They were spending the evening watching a movie, so I was spending the evening watching THEM. Very important work!

Although, sometimes the work needs to be done while ON a person. Here you can see me keeping Ms. C calm as she watches the movie with Mr. R.  I pretend to sleep. But I am very aware!

Styx: Ms. C says I am "off the rails." I especially enjoy chasing my own tail in the bathtub, but I am not averse to doing so on top of the cat-condo as well. Round spaces are good; every cat knows that!

Tabby Tuesday

Abby: Ms. C thinks the sun makes my eye look pretty in this picture. To be honest, I am soaking up energy, getting excited and ready to race around the house.

She also wanted to show you my happy paw in the sunshine. I really love the sun, but on rainy days and in fact any time, Ms. C is my sunshine because I would rather nap with her than do anything else in the world!

Warm Winter Hearts

Stygia: How should a cat spend her winter days? Staying as warm as possible and soaking up every millimeter of available sunlight. Couple this with a wise gaze to let humans know how insufficient their own appreciation of sunbeams are. Make them feel like they are missing something.

Abby: For once, I am going to agree with Stygia. Sunlight is to be cherished. I try to choose a location that allows me to keep an eye on Ms. C. Dangling a leg allows the sensation of great freedom and decreases pressure to my limbs, promoting the best relaxation.

Don't you wish you were me?

Even better is "Occupying" a human when they are in bed. Ms. C was sick over the weekend, so I had a fantastic weekend as she slept to recovery. I slept under her right arm. I slept curled under her left arm. I slept on her chest as my nose practically touched hers. I slept between her knees, and I slept draped over her and Mr. R both. When Ms. C was not available, I spent a little time bonding with Mr. R as he read a favorite book:

Happiness is...

... a warm cat!

Stygia: I am not tired of Occupy Mouse Pad yet! Well, it makes me tired, sometimes; I mean, it's in such a bright location...

Mum took this picture of me and says it is "cute." That I have "cute ears." Mum, I am doing Important Work. Will you either sit in with me or shut the camera off?

Abby: Hmph. I believe that Occupation should be mobile. I much prefer to Occupy a human. Like Mr. R. He is very warm! I like it when the people watch movies cause they sit still long enough for me to have a good doze.

Hazards of the Job

Stygia: Friends! Today, I want to warn you about some of the hazards of the Occupy movement. Some of them are more obvious than others. For instance, if you're Occupying the shower, chances are you're going to get wet (ugh). Ditto for Occupying the bathroom sink. If you Occupy the desk chair, you could easily get sat upon.

Perhaps just as perilous, yet not as obvious, is what could happen if you Occupy a place like the desk (just like I have been doing). You could fall asleep in the sun, doing a happy leg-dangle with a big smile on your face, and your person might get a tell-tail picture showing your laxity on the job! Be careful, friends -- it could happen to you!

As for those of you who are not participating in the Occupy campaign, beware of the kinds of photos people can get of you while you carouse:

I don't think anything more needs to be said.

I win again!

Abby: GOSH! Guess what? I won again! And this time it is something I can use!!! Really use! And will love using! So it arrived in the mail yesterday, clearly addressed to me:

Wow! Well, you know what? In November, Catladyland had a giveaway, and of course I stuck my paw into this event, keeping my whiskers crossed. It turns out I was one of the winners, and my prize just arrived:

OOooo! Seventeen pounds of "World's Best Cat Litter." This has to be the most appropriate prize in the world for me, because I am obviously World's Best Cat. I am campaigning to Ms. C right now to have her fill my box with it. I am ready to scratch, scratch, scratch at it. Mr. R commented that the picture on the bag looks just like me. So obviously, everyone knows that I am indeed World's Best Cat. Thanks!!! I am so, so excited!

Stygia: World's Best Cat, eh? I am sure that this is a really nice prize, and I will also benefit. However, I am still working hard on my Occupy movement. Which isn't actually a movement at all but requires sitting very still in the sun. I recommend joining, while the sun still lasts!

PS. If you look closely, you will see that I am smiling (one of my fangs is visible). This Occupy stuff is really heart and fur warming.

Sun Pigs

Stygia: Did all of you have a nice day? WE did. Mum calls us "sun pigs." Is that another name for cats? I never knew.

Abby: Sun pig? Are you serious? I am a little better with words than Stygia "Worm" is, and I'm not so sure that's flattering... except as you can see I am too busy to care right now:

PS. Stygia, your nose looks big in the sun!

Turkey Day: Exhibits

Stygia: I am thankful for my Mum Ms. C, Mr. R, my new home, sunny days, and even for my pesky sister Abby (because chasing her is a necessity and a hobby, and can be very entertaining). I am not sure I can be thankful for the strange ways Ms. C and Mr. R think sometimes. Sometimes they refer to my back leg-fur when I sit as "turkey fluff." The reason why was not revealed until today:

OH! How could she?!

Good thing she has a REAL turkey in the fridge awaiting the oven. A real turkey's job is not one I envy.

To all of you celebrating Thanksgiving, have a wonderful and safe holiday! To those of you not celebrating, we hope you have a wonderful and safe day of course, anyway!
