Risking Limb, if not Life!

Abby: It's a beautiful sunny day. I like to sit here safe on the printer in the sun, while my sister Occupies the desk.

Stygia: You better watch it, sister! Keep your paws to yourself!

OCCUPY Continues!!!

Abby: I have super news!! The industrious Ms. J, friend to my Ms. C and Mr. R, gave ME a present!! My VERY OWN fuzzy blankie! Now, I no longer have to share a blankie with Stygia. My Mum placed the blankie in the chair and I Occupied it immediately:

I was so excited by my new blankie that I FLIPPED OUT all over it!
Thank you so much, Ms. J!

Ms. J is owned by a kitty, too! His name is Giacomo. Isn't he handsome?? When he heard about our Occupy movement, he was quick to find appropriate locations in his own home that needed to be Occupied.

Here is Giacomo, Occupying the book:

On those colder nights, you can still be comfortable when Occupying by going undercover. Here is Giacomo Occupying the pillow, and as you can see he intelligently utilizes a very stylish blanket:

What have you Occupied lately?

Warm Winter Hearts

Stygia: How should a cat spend her winter days? Staying as warm as possible and soaking up every millimeter of available sunlight. Couple this with a wise gaze to let humans know how insufficient their own appreciation of sunbeams are. Make them feel like they are missing something.

Abby: For once, I am going to agree with Stygia. Sunlight is to be cherished. I try to choose a location that allows me to keep an eye on Ms. C. Dangling a leg allows the sensation of great freedom and decreases pressure to my limbs, promoting the best relaxation.

Don't you wish you were me?

Even better is "Occupying" a human when they are in bed. Ms. C was sick over the weekend, so I had a fantastic weekend as she slept to recovery. I slept under her right arm. I slept curled under her left arm. I slept on her chest as my nose practically touched hers. I slept between her knees, and I slept draped over her and Mr. R both. When Ms. C was not available, I spent a little time bonding with Mr. R as he read a favorite book:

Sharing!

Abby: Just in case you were worried, I did get my turn at the blankie. And it is wonderful! Very cozy. See, Stygia? We can share.

Stygia: Yeah, well, it's mine. I can't help it if I have very important work to do that occasionally takes me away from my blankie. Like continuing my Occupy movement!

Ms. C apologizes for being slow about visiting all her blogger friends. She will very soon! Happy New Year to all! We're wishing it early. We'll see you again next year!

Happiness is...

... a warm cat!

Stygia: I am not tired of Occupy Mouse Pad yet! Well, it makes me tired, sometimes; I mean, it's in such a bright location...

Mum took this picture of me and says it is "cute." That I have "cute ears." Mum, I am doing Important Work. Will you either sit in with me or shut the camera off?

Abby: Hmph. I believe that Occupation should be mobile. I much prefer to Occupy a human. Like Mr. R. He is very warm! I like it when the people watch movies cause they sit still long enough for me to have a good doze.

Hazards of the Job

Stygia: Friends! Today, I want to warn you about some of the hazards of the Occupy movement. Some of them are more obvious than others. For instance, if you're Occupying the shower, chances are you're going to get wet (ugh). Ditto for Occupying the bathroom sink. If you Occupy the desk chair, you could easily get sat upon.

Perhaps just as perilous, yet not as obvious, is what could happen if you Occupy a place like the desk (just like I have been doing). You could fall asleep in the sun, doing a happy leg-dangle with a big smile on your face, and your person might get a tell-tail picture showing your laxity on the job! Be careful, friends -- it could happen to you!

As for those of you who are not participating in the Occupy campaign, beware of the kinds of photos people can get of you while you carouse:

I don't think anything more needs to be said.

I win again!

Abby: GOSH! Guess what? I won again! And this time it is something I can use!!! Really use! And will love using! So it arrived in the mail yesterday, clearly addressed to me:

Wow! Well, you know what? In November, Catladyland had a giveaway, and of course I stuck my paw into this event, keeping my whiskers crossed. It turns out I was one of the winners, and my prize just arrived:

OOooo! Seventeen pounds of "World's Best Cat Litter." This has to be the most appropriate prize in the world for me, because I am obviously World's Best Cat. I am campaigning to Ms. C right now to have her fill my box with it. I am ready to scratch, scratch, scratch at it. Mr. R commented that the picture on the bag looks just like me. So obviously, everyone knows that I am indeed World's Best Cat. Thanks!!! I am so, so excited!

Stygia: World's Best Cat, eh? I am sure that this is a really nice prize, and I will also benefit. However, I am still working hard on my Occupy movement. Which isn't actually a movement at all but requires sitting very still in the sun. I recommend joining, while the sun still lasts!

PS. If you look closely, you will see that I am smiling (one of my fangs is visible). This Occupy stuff is really heart and fur warming.

Post "Storm" Activities

Stygia: The predicted winter snow storm warnings and flood warnings we were under yesterday were, thankfully, a let down. If you are still having rain, Abby had some good suggestions for ways to enjoy your day in the previous post. However, if you are like us and now enjoying good, sunny weather again then there is only one thing you should be doing: nap!

PS. While the humans are Occupying Wall Street and various other locations, now is the time for us kitties to continue on our own Occupy movements. I have chosen to Occupy Ms. C's desk, rain or shine! Though I much prefer shine.
