Rainy Day Busy Stuff

Abby: It's raining. A lot of people may bemoan this weather, and to be honest I prefer the sun myself, but there are still many things you can do to keep active and happy and busy on days like this. Here are my suggestions for you:

#1. Check someone out.
Make sure their bathing habits are on the up-and-up, and offer to assist if they are not. It's friendly!

#2. Discover new hidey holes.
Try out a location you've never tried before. Ms. C was very surprised to find me in this suitcase! Surprising people is always gratifying. But I was very tired, as you can see, it was conducive to my naptime.

#3. Sit on someone.
It's not exactly warm out here. Not only will you be helping them to stay warm, but also you'll benefit from the cozy feelings and probably some nice chin-scratchies, too!

Our Favorite New Activities

Abby: This morning we would like to share with you some of our favorite new activities. They do not vary too much, but that is because they are so wonderful!

My new favorite location is in this window, of course. Ms. C thinks I look angry in this picture, but I want to assure you that I am not. It's just that I am not quite accustomed to being in such bright sun anymore and I am trying not to squint. How wonderful it is!

Stygia: I am manning, er, catting, this strategic position on the cat condo. From here, I can circle about and keep track of activities inside the house, as well as monitor for intruders outside the house. It's a tough job, but I have years of experience!

Abby: For those of you who thought I looked angry in the window. I'll show you angry. Here is my angry face as I am lounging on Ms. C's lap. I am angry because Stygia approached and dared to stand up with her front paws against the arm rest and meow to Ms. C while I was getting my cuddle time:

She didn't stay for long so I guess she took the hint from my flat eyes and rumpled brow!

Growing Up

Abby: My Mom has been telling me for a long time that part of growing up is learning to share. Sharing can be one of the finer things in life, she says.

I didn't really believe her until recently. I mean, I like playing "Queen of the Cat Condo" as much as any other cat does. Sharing the bed with Stygia to comfort the people when they were not feeling well was okay. But... but sharing space with Mom like this, oh! It was wonderful:

Warm! Comfy! It's not so warm outside any more, so sharing Mom's lap was a great comfort to both her and me. She was right.

Catlove

Abby: I admit, I am hogging the blog this week. Perhaps we should just all understand because it was my Gotcha Day this week, I can't help but hog the blog a little bit.

I am not usually a lap cat, and since I have doubled in size since I arrived in my home just over a year ago, it's a little difficult to rest on Mr. R's shoulder, as I used to prefer. As you can see, however, a lap is also a warm and friendly place to rest!

PS. Ms. C messed up the blog again and is working on restoring all her linkies and stuff!

Springy Sunday

Stygia: It's Sunday. I've decided to take it easy on this very nice, warm, spring-like afternoon. I've been spending a lot more time in my people's laps, and I think they enjoy it as much as I do! It was so warm today, Mr. R actually opened the screen door to the balcony because it was getting too warm inside the house!

Abby: I don't know how she can stay relaxed on a day like today. The sounds and scents coming in through the screen have me quite excited. I was a bit nervous at first, about approaching the smells and sounds (it's very windy outside as well), but now I just can't help running around and stopping by to investigate this exciting thing! Wow!!!

PS. We have a meme/award from Tama-Chan and Tom, and plan to tackle it tomorrow, Ms. C says we have to put on our thinking caps before we try it . . . and that's rather tough for us at the moment!

News Flash and Tabby Toesday

Abby: Sen-Chan, Tom, and #1 of The Poupounette have welcomed a new member of the family to their home yesterday! It's a coup for the cats, as felines Sen-Chan and his new Abyssinian sister now outnumber the other species in their household. We are so excited for all of you. Congratulations! She is a lucky little girl.

Speaking of lucky, Ms. C was very lucky this morning because I chose to warm her lap:

I don't know why they call relaxing "chilling out," because we were so warm and cozy. I love to lay all flat and spread out to maximize my warmth intake. I just let my tabby toes hang in the air, I was very relaxed!

I am not usually a lap cat. This morning, however, it was much colder than I was used to. The sun was not out. It was raining. I thought Ms. C looked like she could use some kitty warmth, so that's why I did it. Now that the sun has come back out, though, Stygia and I need to get back to our positions on the window.
