Who started it?

Abby: I know that all of you believe I am the troublemaker in the house. That I'm the one who starts all of the fights. Well, I would like you to know that my sister Stygia is also responsible for these occasions! She was hanging out under Mr. R's desk this morning. I simply came along to sniff and see what was so interesting about it (notice I am even walking away?), when she WHAPPED at me!

Of course, if she is feeling playful, who am I to say no to a good wrestling session? Hee hee!

Upside Down

Stygia: The morning sunlight makes us a little bit wild sometimes! When Ms. C awakens and opens the blinds, we gravitate towards it. We roll. We chase. We attack our toys. But most of all, we look rather adorable, don't you agree?

Even Abby looks cute in the sun, albeit a bit goofy. But she is only 10 months old so she has an excuse. I have been known to make faces like this too when I am happy:

I really move fast so it is very hard for Ms. C to capture me in action. This is about as good as it gets:

Abby: I do NOT want to be held. But I am a patient cat, and I do not squirm. I just make lots of growly noises.

War and Peacetime

Abby: This is how it all starts. The sun comes in our window in the morning, and it gets us quite excited. I am on a perch, looking for Stygia! Notice how nice my whiskers look in the sun:

Stygia: Abby is a wily little cat, she is probably still growing and gaining muscle, so even though I am 2 years old and she is 10 months old, I really have to make sure I keep in good shape and work hard to cement my superiority. I practice all kinds of special, ninja-cat moves:

I have to twist in all kinds of ways to keep her on the move!

Abby: Lest you think I am merely a pest, I am actually a very nice cat. I even lick Styggie on occasion throughout our battles, and we like to rest near each other afterwards!

Funny Face

Abby: It's been SO EXCITING around here this week! Not only did we get to meet new people, but they also brought a number of boxes into the house, unwrapped them, and all kinds of stuff!

Ms. C's dad was assembling one of four "new bookcases" for her, and of course I had to assist him at every moment. Look at this awesome cave!

Ms. C said something about my "funny face." Do you think I am making funny faces? I don't think I am being funny. Humans are so weird!

I am sure they did this all for my benefit. I learned to make myself go really flat, and now I have four new hidey holes! Wheee!

Amazed

Stygia: For awhile now, Abby and I believed that Mr. R and Ms. C are probably the only other humans left in the world, and that was ok with us. Two cats, two people, what could be more perfect than that? But we learned today that there are Other People in the world, too. Ms. C's parents are here, and we are amazed! I am not afraid, however. It means there are four more legs to rub against!

Abby: I like to show the world how brave I am, but the truth is, I am a bit shy. I guess I was a little bit rude to Ms. C's Mom yesterday, and I hissed at her. I did it even though I kept walking over to her to check her out. I just needed to warn her that I had to sniff her first. I mean, I am not one of those cats that runs and hides as soon as they arrived, I am way too curious for that! But people need to know their place. Cats first!

They brought us a present all the way from Prince Edward Island, so now we have some new, very luxurious bowls to eat from! They are almost as adorable as we are:

Silly on Sunday

Stygia: Abby, it's not nice to use your claws on me like that!


Abby: I'm just showing them to you. I'm not actually going to use them on you, ok?! Mmmm, but I am going to use them on this catnip mouse. I looooove this mouse!

Look how cute my little whisker dots are!!

Stygia: She wears me out! I think I'm going to go have a nap up here in the sun. That's what we are supposed to do on Sundays, Abby. Relax.


Abby: It's never going to last! Just in case you wonder, I'm the one who attacks first!

Stygia: Yeah, but look what happens when you look away! Hehehe!
