War and Peacetime

Abby: This is how it all starts. The sun comes in our window in the morning, and it gets us quite excited. I am on a perch, looking for Stygia! Notice how nice my whiskers look in the sun:

Stygia: Abby is a wily little cat, she is probably still growing and gaining muscle, so even though I am 2 years old and she is 10 months old, I really have to make sure I keep in good shape and work hard to cement my superiority. I practice all kinds of special, ninja-cat moves:

I have to twist in all kinds of ways to keep her on the move!

Abby: Lest you think I am merely a pest, I am actually a very nice cat. I even lick Styggie on occasion throughout our battles, and we like to rest near each other afterwards!

Stygia: It started out nice, although you can see I am cautious and keeping an eye on her. That tabby cat Abby looks peaceful and cute. But how long can it last?

Yep, soon enough, she rolls over and.... just LOOK!! She bites me in the butt!! ARRRRgh! This is not going to go unanswered, Abby!!!

Abby: Sure, I like relaxing with my sis. I lick between her ears every day now. But I can't help it, her twitching tail makes me feel playful. We like to play in the sun.

Just in case you think I am always the one starting things, I will have you know for the record that right before Ms. C snapped this shot, I was licking between her ears. But as you can see, she got excited and wanted to play! I know how she feels, so who am I to deny her?

Ms. C:  I've been having a lot of computer problems over the past few days.  I tried re-formatting the hard drive (which is not showing any signs of bad sectors, etc), and it is still giving me troubles.  Hopefully that can be repaired soon, whatever this mystery problem is, so I can get back to reading all of my favorite cat-blogs!

However limited the current connection is, it will not stop me from sharing this adorable example of two sisters greeting each other, with nary an aggressive paw lifted.  They spent quite some time sitting side by side in this window, enjoying the late summer afternoon! How cute.

Stygia: ...any of you imagine that all is now peace and harmony in the Abby & Stygia household, we have the following evidence to present. Look. Just WHO does it look like wants to be the aggressor in this picture? .......

We Don't Want to Share, Yet!

Abby: Our mom let us have some snoopervised time together today. For the most part we were gentle with each other, either sniffing benignly or just ignoring each other and each doing our own, important Cat Things, but I get very excited. Ms. C says my attitude in this picture is not a very nice way to approach Stygia, but I just want to PLAY but she makes me a little nervous.

I don't really want to share my catnip. Ms. C separated us again and gave me some nip! It makes me attack my little Adan doll with great ferociousness!


Stygia: I didn't even hiss at her today, not at first. I let her get real close to me, and sniff me. We did our own things, but I think that when Ms. C came back downstairs to check on us, all of Abby's actions were a big show for our Mom. She chased me round the bed a few times until leaped up to my perch where she will not follow!
