Stinky Badness

Perhaps as you can tell from today's headline, it could be a better day for both Ms. C and myself. I thought those pills they tried to shove down my throat were bad? Well, they had nothing on the stinky badness of that so-called fish-flavored liquid stuff they tried to give me next:

Ms. C really feels awful. I mean, just look at me. I really, really, really, really hate that medicine. She feels like she is torturing me when I run around foaming at the mouth because I hate the taste so much.

Ms. C really is feeling frustrated and terrible about it. There is no tricking me by disguising a pill or this liquid in cheese, peanut butter, stinky fish, or anything else because I am very smart. I know when something tastes like poison and I will not touch it. She has wasted pill after pill trying to find the way to trick me, taking the tips of other humans who have had success in tricking their dogs or cats. Nope, it won't work with me.

She tells me that she is very concerned that my condition will worsen, and only wants me to be healthy. I'm still not going to take that stuff.

Zoolatry-tivity! ... and Shots and Shoes on Sunday

First of all, thank you to our very creative friends at Zoolatry who sent us these very special welcome pictures, writing, "T'Abby says she's happy to have found a home with R and C and it's amazing how much they "match" here..."

And it is true! We match in so many ways.

Do we take it easy on Sunday mornings? Sometimes, but not today! As you can see below, we've broken out the printer and I am very much a part of the decision-making in what comes out. Grandma A. has not seen a picture of me, her great grand-cat, yet because she does not have Internet access. So we are printing out my very best shots and are preparing them to mail on Monday!

If you can tell from examining the next sequence of photos carefully, you can see what my latest favorite game is. It involves getting the humans to play fetch with me. Then, when Mr. R's shoe eats the toy, I give it the thorough smackdown it deserves until it releases that toy to me:

I hope you are having as much fun today as I am!

Caturday

I really love these relaxing Caturdays when all my humans are home and giving me all of their attention. Mr. R pleased me by getting up at 6am as usual, and I played the thundering herds game. Ms. C told me she could hear me well even though she was still in bed, so I must be getting better at it!!

She thinks the light fur under my tail is so cute, and she wanted to share it with you, but I thought that the photo was a tad bit rude. You can see why when I run around, she is reminded of the white-tailed deer:

Following Sen-Chan's example, I pass much of my afternoon beautifying and just being wonderful:

Finally, when it is time to relax, I know where I look good:
I may add a little more to this in a bit, but Ms. C and I need to call her grandmother, today is her 94th birthday!

Stars and (Tabby?!) Stripes Forever

Happy Independence day! I am wearing my stripes today in celebration. Ok, I know, I wear my stripes every day, I just thought it sounded good. I've celebrated the day in a number of ways, perhaps foremost by sleeping. Ms C took this picture because she thought the angle accented my Jackelope-ishness:

Did you notice in the picture above I have a white tuxi-spot in the middle of my neck? Ms. C thinks it is terribly sweet!

I have a new favorite hobby. After chasing and carrying around my favorite toy, the orange furrymouse, I like to drop it into Mr. R's shoe for an extra challenge. Ms. C caught me at a lazy moment when I was resting with both of my front paws in the shoe. Don't you think it fits me well?

Do you think it looks like I'm singing? I like to pretend that this is what it's about, but actually I'm just getting ready to rest again. Ms. C still has an injured finger so she cannot play her piano, so someone may as well make good use of it:

I hope everyone who's celebrating has a fun, safe holiday!

Calm before a Storm

My day often starts calmly. Like before a storm. You can see here, I am appreciative of the fact that Ms. C has returned my regular table to my Spot between her and Mr. R's desks. She has painted it fresh for me. It's glossy now, like my fur. Don't you think I look good here?

After that moment of repose, I find out that the monstrous cat condo is trying to claim one of my furrymice! I rescue it, as you can see I've retrieved it from the upper maw and am delivering it to the floor:

I often find that somehow, my furrymice end up in Mr. R's shoe! I work very hard to retrieve it from this place:

I always have success. And as you can see, I smile as I receive praise for all of my accomplishments from Ms. C:

Playing Hard to Catch

Good images of me are very hard for Ms. C (or anyone else for that matter) to capture because I am always on the move. For every clear picture you see here, there are about 10 others in which I am simply a blur or not even in the picture at all! Here are a few of my better moments. First, I enjoy waiting behind this curtain for Ms. C to walk by, and then I either ambush, run away from her, or both:

Here you see me skulking across the room towards the monstrous cat-condo. Sometimes it's a nice, peaceful place to rest, but other times it becomes unruly and must be bitten:

As you can see, I have mastered the cat-condo. Although, it will be sure to take a few more bites and kicks for good measure before I am done with it:
Do you see that cloth on the floor by my cat condo? I have to kill it too every day. I have to wrestle it into submission, as well as cavort in, bite, and drag any papers I see lying around into the fracas! And here you see me leaping away from the chaos to the safety of my perch on Ms. C's desk:

In Which A Cat Gains Chair

No, it wasn't me! It was Colonial Mustard, in the study, with the candlestick!

Ok, ok, so most of it is true. I did gain a chair. I did use my fangs and paws and did the bunny-kick when Ms. C was tickling my belly. I couldn't help it.

I am so pleased to have a chair of my very own right next to Ms.C's that I felt it was worth a headline. She retired it to someone worthier (myself) and I can do anything I want in this chair. Sleep, play, and even do a little bit of scratching. No police were involved. No cats were arrested. So please don't worry!

Tee hee! I can get away with anything!

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Abby at Manx Mnews and Dana of Tybalt, Prince of Cats! Here's to many more for all of us!
